@f02@t4@cQuality coding
@t5@f00No, this small article is not about
ideas in demos. It's simply about the
fact that coders don't think when they
program their demos. Most coders have
an A500 with 1/2 meg fake fast-RAM so
when they code they only try it on
their own computer. But the A500 is
not the only computer around since an
increasing number of A2000 and A500+
are sold today (let's forget about
A3000, turbocards etc. - we are
talking about standard computers).
And there the problem appears since
they both have 1 megabyte chip-RAM
which does not at all work like 1/2
chip + 1/2 fake fast (though there are
no advantages with fake fast but the

@t5@f00adresses are different). Just at THE
PARTY 91, 2 of the best 8 demos
(Upfront: "Plastic Passion", Anarchy:
"Seeing is beliving") didn't work on
an A2000. Dan/Anarchy even knew that
it didn't work since a text is
displayed if you try to run it. Can
it be so hard to find out on which
computer the demos runs and then
change some minor things so it can
work on all Amigas?? I doubt it but
maybe most coders are just too lazy?
The most ridiculous is when the demos
are supposed to run on 1/2 meg chip
and they still don't run on 1 meg chip
- arggghh ! And mostly the "1/2 chip
- 1/2 fake fast"-demos don't even run

@t5@f00on a A500 with 1/2 meg chip and true
fast-RAM either.... There is nothing
more irritating than having a good
demo which you can't see just because
the coder didn't spent a little more
time on "cleaning up" his code.
So dear programmers: please do
something about it. Thank you!
